RURALREADY HELP CENTER

Questions deserve plain answers.

Quick guidance for departments, ranches and farms evaluating or using RuralReady.

01

Getting started

What is RuralReady?

RuralReady is an operations platform with separate Fire, Ranch and Farm workspaces. Each workspace uses a shared foundation for people, permissions, assets, work orders, maps, expenses and reports, while keeping industry-specific records separate.

Do I need all three services?

No. A fire department can subscribe only to Fire, a ranch only to Ranch, and a farm only to Farm. Combined operations can add more than one workspace when that option becomes available.

How do I get started?

Choose a service and plan, sign in securely, name the organization that will own the records, accept the terms and continue to Stripe. After payment, return to RuralReady to begin onboarding your operation.

Can I use any email address?

Yes. Use any email address you own or are authorized to control. Sign in with that address so RuralReady can verify it before creating the organization. If the wrong email is shown, sign out and choose the correct account before continuing.

Fire departments

Does RuralReady replace CrewApp, CAD or dispatch?

No. RuralReady complements crew messaging and dispatch systems. It focuses on readiness, checks, equipment, work orders, certifications, training, water sources, grants, expenses and leadership reports.

Who receives a failed-check work order?

Routing is based on the department’s roles and rules. A Chief or Assistant Chief can receive all safety-critical issues, while apparatus, equipment, training or station officers can receive the work assigned to their responsibility.

Can reports be given to a city or county?

Yes. Daily, weekly and monthly summaries are designed to consolidate checks, work orders, expenses and activity into a reviewable report. The department remains responsible for verifying the report and meeting its local submission rules.

03

Maps, offline use & notifications

Will RuralReady work without service?

The installed web app can keep its core interface and previously loaded pages available when coverage drops. New or changed records are not safely submitted until RuralReady confirms they were saved after a connection returns. Users must verify the central record before relying on a field change.

Can it use cellular data instead of Wi-Fi?

Yes. A web app can use Wi-Fi or a cellular data connection. Performance depends on the device, carrier, signal and data settings.

How accurate are rural water-source locations?

The app can record device GPS coordinates and map references, but the department must field-verify every water source, access route, capacity note and restriction. Consumer GPS and third-party maps can be wrong or outdated.

How do command notifications work?

Each command member enables notifications on each device they want to receive alerts on. Authorized events can then trigger a browser push notification. Delivery still depends on the device, browser, operating system, network and notification settings.

04

Accounts, data & billing

Who controls an organization?

The authorized organization owner or designated administrator controls membership, roles and workspace access. RuralReady should be notified promptly when a member leaves or a device is lost.

Who owns the records?

The subscribing organization retains ownership of the records and files it submits. RuralReady receives only the limited permission needed to host, protect, process, back up and display that content to provide the service.

Can we export our records?

RuralReady provides operational reports and practical exports for supported records. Organizations with a specific statutory or contractual retention requirement should confirm the available format before enrolling and maintain any independent records required by law or policy.

When will we be charged?

After creating your RuralReady organization, you continue to Stripe’s secure checkout. Stripe shows the selected plan, amount and billing interval before you authorize payment. Subscriptions renew on that interval until canceled.

How do I change or cancel a plan?

Contact RuralReady support from the email address used by the organization owner. A cancellation stops future renewal and takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless applicable law or a written offer requires otherwise.
